Stage 3: Observation and tasting on the lookout

We leave the forest behind and start the ascent to the viewpoint of the farm. The relief change is noticeable, like the change in vegetation. The path goes through an open area crowded of wild plants and shrubs from Mallorca garrigue: CÃ rritx, palm, etc.. This type of environment is identical to the dominant landscape in the Parc Natural de Llevant. The ascent itself takes about 15 minutes and represents a small physical challenge to hikers due to the steep relief and the lack of shade (it is a stretch easily affordable for anyone in good health). This is definitely the most physically demanding part of the whole experience and requires some balance because the path is rocky and vegetation at times can be a bit dense. The guide will show you the way and ensure that all participants feel comfortable and safe, accessing to stop if someone requests so.
At the top of the peak we expect the lookout, composed by stone benches built into the mountain itself, under the pleasant shade of two pines. From this point, with a panoramic view over the forests, fields, mountains, valleys, the town of Arta and the sea, we are in the perfect location to enjoy a tasty and healthy snack based on Mallorcan products: bread, tomato, olive oil, "sobrassada" sausage, cheese, vegetables "coca", olives and a glass of red wine (for children we offer a fruit juice). This gustatory experience is in harmony with the environment and the traditions lived in Can Regalat, because it is the same food that has been enjoyed for centuries in Mallorca. While we savor the delicious local products, the guide introduces us to their traditional production and major health benefits.
The amazing views from the lookout allow us to contemplate many aspects of the morphology and topography of the landscape. The guide explains how the wind, geology and especially water, have shaped the landscape to achieve the heterogenous environment that we see around us. The wide range of items includes narrow streams, floodplains, forested plateaus, rocky mountains, wild coast, etc.. Each of these places has its own natural ecosystem, and their own qualities for human use. Furthermore, the viewpoint is a privileged place for spotting birds of prey and to feel the fresh breeze. The program also inludes 5 minutes of silence to let our mind tune in with the natural elements.
